Women of Queens
In partnership with “The Bridge” serving the whole of Queensbridge housing projects and the surrounding area, this course seeks to build up women as influencers by creating an accepting place for women to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help, and spiritual hope.
Young Lives: Teen Mom Support Group
We provided teen moms with a safe environment to dive deeper into the Bible, through a group called Campaigners. YoungLives leaders and young mothers come together and explore the intricacies of God's love while being encouraged to ask questions and take part in open discussions. While mommies are exploring scripture their babies are being cared for by childcare workers.
Teaching Artists Collective
This collective is made-up of local artists and teachers offering affordable classes for kids in voice, piano, percussion, guitar, theatre and dance.
On a weekly basis we offer our space as a free gathering place for those in the community longing to create relationship, find communities of support, and share best practices in raising kids here in the city.
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. Each session begins with a great meal, followed by a short talk or film looking at a different aspect of the Christian faith. After that, there is a time for open discussion in a friendly small group.
LIC Tech Breakfast
The LIC tech breakfast is a gathering of local tech entrepreneurs seeking to network, share best practices, offer resourcing and support and look for ways to partner for business development and community development alike.
