The Next Chapter for Renew Queens

For nearly a decade, Renew Queens has called Long Island City home. Like anything worth building, these years have been filled with both joys and challenges — but one thing has remained constant: finding space in NYC is never easy and we are so grateful for the space we have been given and to be a part of this neighborhood.

An Exciting New Opportunity

As Long Island City continues to grow, an amazing new door has opened.

OneLIC Neighborhood Plan is a major City Planning rezoning of the Anable Basin area of the LIC waterfront. Should this receive approval and move ahead, one of the developers has selected Renew Queens as its community partner to create a vibrant, community-serving facility within its future mixed-use development on Vernon Blvd in LIC.

Here’s what we’re dreaming and planning for:

  • 🪑 Office and communal workspace for staff and entrepreneurs

  • 🎤 500-seat auditorium with A/V and theatrical lighting setup

  • 🪷 Wellness initiatives to promote community health and mental wellbeing

  • 🍳 Full commercial kitchen

  • 🏀 Multipurpose event space for breakouts, games, athletics, and workshops

  • 🎒 4–6 age-specific classrooms for kids’ education and youth development

  • 🎬 Small video/sound studio to support local artists

  • ☕ Operable storefront coffee shop
